2024 CONFERENCE RECAP
Thursday’s keynote speaker André Rocha, director of Mission and Outreach at Solana Beach PC, discussed God’s mission across generations. Drawing from God’s Call to Abraham in Gen. 12:5-14, he framed how God is at work in each of our lives while sharing stories from his own background.
In the 1800s, Rocha’s ancestor, Johann Rickli, travelled from Scotland to Egypt and Ethiopia on a challenging faith mission. Intending to make his next destination San Francisco, California, Rickli instead boarded a sailing ship bound for Brazil. Through it all, God used Rickli to serve disadvantaged people.
Rocha then shared his own faith journey, which started in childhood in Brazil, then led him to time as a missionary in Greece, and eventually to service at churches in California.
“Regardless of age, ability or talent,” Rocha imparted, “each of us is commissioned to faithfully follow God in his mission.”
